03 / EVIDENCE + AI USE

Every claim should say what kind of evidence supports it.

We use a primary-source-first method, preserve material uncertainty, and require human verification of automated assistance.

CLAIM TYPES

Known, claimed, projected, analyzed, or unknown.

01

Verified fact

A reliable record directly establishes the claim.

02

Official statement

An identified responsible party made the claim; it may not be independently verified.

03

Projection or estimate

A forward-looking calculation depends on stated assumptions.

04

Independent analysis

A reasoned interpretation uses cited evidence and disclosed methods.

05

Unknown

Material information is unavailable, incomplete, inconsistent, or not yet verified.

CONFIDENCE LABELS

Precision must be earned.

Confidence communicates the strength and limitations of the available record. It is not a score for whether a project is good or bad.

High

Strong, direct, and consistent evidence.

Medium

Supported, with meaningful limitations or possible future change.

Low

Incomplete, indirect, disputed, or preliminary evidence.

Unknown

The record does not support a responsible conclusion.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Useful assistance. Human responsibility.

AI tools may assist with document organization, comparison, drafting, transcription, data extraction, and quality control. They do not replace source verification or human editorial responsibility.

Material claims generated or summarized with automated assistance must be checked against the cited record before publication.
